The City of Lindon is celebrating its 100th Anniversary of Incorporation on in 2024!

Feb 3 - Roaring 20's Throwback

As a part of Lindon's Centennial Celebrations, we are going back in time! Join us for a "throwback in time" to the roaring 20's at the Wadley Farm's Castle! There will be music, treats, activities, prizes, and much more! Come dressed in your best throwback outfit and get ready to learn the Charleston with some BYU dancers! Help us celebration this centennial year and get ready to party at Wadley Farm's Castle! The event goes from 6:30-8:00 PM and is free to all.

Mar 18 - Centennial Proclamation
Attend a special City Council meeting for the reading our the Centennial Proclamation declaring Mar 25 to be "Lindon Day" and to celebrate our 100th Year as a city. The meeting will start at 5:15 PM at the Lindon City Center (100 N Main Street). 

Mar 25 - Lindon Dowdle Puzzle Unveiling 
To celebrate the Centennial Celebrations of Lindon City, join us as we unveil our Lindon City Dowdle Puzzle! The event will start at 6:30 PM at the Lindon Community Center. Eric Dowdle. our Mayor, and City Council will help unveil our Centennial puzzle. Don't miss out on your chance to see the large puzzle and enjoy an evening with treats and entertainment. Puzzles will be available for pickup following this event. Pre-orders for the puzzle and prints are available at the link below.

Join us at the Lindon City Park to kickoff our Healthy Lindon initiative! Come see the challenges, prizes, races, hikes, and events happening for 2024. Make sure to pickup your Healthy Lindon packet to prepare for the coming months.

May 3 - Centennial Arbor Day Celebration

Join Lindon Parks & Rec and the Lindon Tree Board as we celebrate Arbor Day! We will be planting a centennial tree and unveiling a centennial bench. There will be tree giveaways, food, prizes, and much more! Don't forget to pickup fliers with information on how to help your trees and plants.

Jun 5 - Summer Centennial Party
Join Lindon Parks & Rec as we kick off summer in a historic way! The Centennial Summer Kickoff will be an event you do not want to miss! There will be foam machines, shave ice, dunk tanks, lawn games, and much more! Don’t forget to stop by the pavilion and check out our Centennial TIME CAPSULE!

WATERMELON BUST!!
We are bringing back a historic game that the residents of Lindon used to play back in the early 1900’s! Sign ups will be available at the event for the main watermelon bust and age divisions will be open for the watermelon seed spitting competition! This event will start at 2:00 PM.
 
Watermelon Bust: This competition will be for those 16 y/o+. Each participant will be given a seedless watermelon and will need to break open the watermelon and eat all the insides to win the competition. The event will be limited to 20 individuals.

Seed Spitting: Each person wanting to participate will receive watermelon wedge. They need to keep at least one of the seeds for the comp. Each person will lineup and spit the seed as far as they can. The person who spits the farthest in each age group wins! The age groups will be 11-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-54, 55+ with no cap on participants per age group.

July 1-30 - Lindon Centennial Historic Adventure

Get ready for an unforgettable journey through history with the Lindon Centennial Historic Adventure – a spectacular city-wide event kicking off on Monday, July 1, 2024. In continuing the year-long festivities commemorating our Centennial, this epic adventure is open to all Lindon residents and anyone else in Utah County, inviting participants to explore, learn, compete and have fun! Prizes will be awarded to Lindon Residents only.

 

The mobile-phone driven scavenger hunt will run from July 1 to July 31, 2024, and the prize winners will be announced on Saturday, August 10, during the Lindon Days grand concert and fireworks show. This is your chance to look back in time and learn about the people and places that have contributed to making our community what it is today.

 

How to Join the Fun:

  1. Assemble your Group

  2. Have one group member download the Eventzee App: Available for free on both iOS and Android platforms.

  3. Create an Account: Register with an email, username and password.

  4. On or after July 1, enter the Event Code: Lindon100

  5. Read the instructions on the home screen and begin the game

 

Start exploring, learn history, attempt challenges, accumulate points and see how high you can climb on the leaderboard. Throughout the scavenger hunt, participants will earn points by completing various tasks and challenges. Total points and challenges completed will entitle you to various badges. In keeping with Lindon’s “Little Bit of Country” motto, scoring badges are named after horses. Shetlands qualify for the lowest value prize drawing, Appaloosas the middle tier, and Thoroughbreds will be entered into the drawing for the most valuable prizes! Prizes will be awarded to Lindon Residents only.

  • Winners Announced: Saturday, August 10, 2024, during the concert and fireworks show of Lindon days Prizes will be awarded to Lindon Residents only.

Sept 7 - Healthy Lindon Tri
To help wrap-up the summer, Lindon will be putting on a Healthy Lindon Tri! We will be swimming at the Lindon Aquatics Center, running on the Murdock Canal Trail, and biking around Utah County. Follow this page for more information. 

Sept 14 - Lindon BBQ Cookoff and Family Picnic
Join Lindon City as throwback to our historic cookoffs and put on a BBQ cookoff and family picnic! People will compete to see who can cook the best BBQ dish while families bring their dinner to have a nice evening at the Lindon City Park. Watch for more information.

Oct 21 - Lindon City Mural
Participate in the Lindon City Mural! We will be collecting photos from residents to help create a mural of the City Center building. This mural will be placed in the city for everyone to visit and find their photos. The mural will be unveiled at City Council on Oct 21. Information on how to submit photos coming soon.

Nov 23 - Turkey Trot
As a part of our Healthy Lindon initiative, Lindon will be starting a Turkey Trot! Help make room for that Thanksgiving Dinner by running/walking through Lindon City! Watch this page for more information!

Dec 2 - Historic Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join us for the Historic Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Community Center and learn about how Lindon celebrated Christmas in years past. There will be hot chocolate, music, and much more!

Dec 2 - Historic Museum Unveiling
The Lindon Historic Commission will be unveiling the newly remodeled Historic Museum at the Lindon Community Center following the Lighting Ceremony. 

Dec 13 - Centennial Light Parade
Lindon will be hosting a Centennial Light Parade down main street! We invite any businesses, residents, and groups who want to participate to decorate a vehicle or float to show off in our parade. This will be a winter spectacle ending with Santa coming to town!

Dec 14 - Lindon Birthday Bash
To end the year of celebration, join us as we host a Lindon birthday Bash! This event will be a thank you from Lindon City to the residents, businesses, and community who make this city a special place to live. We will cut the Centennial cake, play games, and give away prizes as a thanks for all!
